News Date : 13 May 2023 News Report
The EEE Department at MGIT continues to inspire students with hands-on learning experiences. Our recent industrial visit to the Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC) on May 13, 2023, provided second- and third-year students with an exceptional opportunity to witness the intricate processes involved in the production of nuclear fuel.
The visit was attended by 45 students from the IV semester and III Year II semester, who saw firsthand how raw materials are converted into fuel pellets, assembled into fuel rods and bundles, and then undergo the final stages of fuel fabrication.
A highlight of the visit was a presentation by Mr. D. Srinivas, Senior Manager, HRD of NFC, who gave a detailed explanation about India’s three-stage nuclear program – a legacy of Homi J Bhabha, the Father of the Indian Nuclear Programme. Mr. Srinivas also discussed the technical aspects of nuclear energy production and the stringent safety measures in place to ensure safe and secure nuclear energy generation.
The visit was an interactive session, with students actively engaging in discussions and posing questions. Mr. Srinivas patiently answered their queries, providing valuable insights into the field of nuclear fuels and its manufacturing methods. This visit effectively bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, enabling the students to gain a more comprehensive understanding of nuclear fuels and their fabrication process.
At MGIT, we believe in providing our students with such enriching experiences that stimulate their learning and prepare them for their future careers in the industry. Stay tuned for more exciting news and updates from our campus!
